Last week, a much-anticipated board was finally due for release. This week, that board hit the shelves here at the Loft. That board is the brand new Bustin Ratmobile. Today I’ll be giving board specs and some recommended setups.
The Ratmobile is 36in long and 9 ¾ inches at its widest point. This board is very versatile for any DH course with its multiple wheelbase options ranging from 24.5 to 28inches. If you’re like me, and just love short wheelbases, you’ll love this board. With 5/8 inches of concave, it’s just enough to keep your feet comfortable during long DH runs and keep you locked in while going sideways. The RM’s slight rocker and sharp rails add to the free rideability of this board. Like any board, added 3D concave with grip tape, also found here at the Loft, will allow you to customize this board to your personal liking. “This board is a blank canvas, a carefully designed downhill board that’s ready to thrash from day one.” The large wheel wells allow you to run larger wheels such as 75mm.
For a cheaper Downhill, and even free ride set up, Caliber 44’s or 50’s would be ideal. We also offer precision trucks including Ronins, Aeras, Surf Rodz, Buzzed, and Buzzed Nikos with a fitted spherical.
For downhill, some square lipped wheels such as 78a Zigzags or Bigzigs, 75 or 78a Royce premier formula’s, 80a Orangatang 4pres or Inheats, or Cult Traction beams are what we recommend.
For freeride, we suggest 75a Bustin swifts, Cult Classics, Abec 11 freerides, or 80a Orangatang Stimulus.
The Ratmobile is a super dope board and has been seen on podiums multiple times this past racing season. Although it’s a simple design, it is completely functional and obviously gets the job done (Quite well too). Come by this week for custom painted, one of a kind Ratmobile off our Bustin wall.
